7:30pm: ‘Training for Liberation: Norwegians in the Local Area in WWII’ by Susan Kruse

Our next talk will be on the given by Susan Kruse from ARCH on their recent project  investigating the Norwegians in the local area during WWII. Susan will include the story of the filming of a propaganda film in Portmahomack, ‘Before the Raid’ and the (re)discovery of an unrecorded WWII camp at Newfield. The project discovered far more than expected – but any stories others can share are welcome. This will be a fascinating insight into the extent to which Norwegian soldiers were involved in local life during World War 2.

Tickets are required, here is the link to purchase: https://app.tickettailor.com/events/tarbatdiscoverycentre/2147393

Susan will also be giving a talk at Invergordon Museum on Wednesday 15th April titled ‘Wartime Invergordon’ where she will describe the bustling nature of Invergordon in WWI and WWII, researched through community projects over the last 15 years. See their Facebook, Instagram or website for details.
