In the Centre Activity Room visitors can access the Tarbat Discovery Programme Database, local Parish Records and the Tarbat Photographic Archive. There are also rubbing boards for children, depicting animals, patterns and scenes from the carved stones.
Tarbat Discovery Programme Database Compiled by York University, the database holds information about the Picts, the Tarbat area, St. Colman and the church, the archaeology at Tarbat and links to other sites of interest.
The Parish Records The Parish Records are part of the Centre's ongoing Graveyards Recording Project and will provide a companion search to the Graveyards Database. The Database will also be available in the Centre sometime in 2006. There are eight graveyards involved in the project, Balintore, Chapelhill (Nigg), Fearn Abbey, Kilmuir Easter, Logie Easter, Marybank, Nigg and Tarbat. In the Parish Records we also have Gairloch, Glenshiel, Lochalsh, Lochbroom and Lochcarron.
Tarbat Photographic Archive (A project funded by CED/RACE and Highland Council.) The Archive was created by local photographer Richard Blosse. Richard has spent more than 20 years compiling images of the local area. As a specialist he has also restored many old photographs which might have been otherwise lost. Mounted on the wall are several old school photographs which identify many local folk from Tarbat as far back as 1937. The bulk of the Archive is contained in six fully catalogued folders and separated by subject.
